Keeping you safe

Keeping you safe

Adult Community Learning Essex takes its responsibility seriously for creating an environment that promotes wellbeing and ensures personal safety, security and welfare. Safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone.

Safeguarding aims to prevent and reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to young people and adults with care and support needs. Abuse is when someone causes a person harm or distress. It can take many forms, ranging from disrespect to causing someone physical or mental pain.It can occur in someone‚Äôs home, a public place or online.

The person you need to go to with safeguarding concerns is the Designated Lead Jill Newton. Jill has responsibility within the service for Safeguarding and Child protection including Online Safety. If Jill is unavailable then Klaudia is her deputy.  There are also two other trained Designated Officers: Josie Mallon: 07880 092 836 and Trevor Richards:07789 158122 who can help with concerns if Jill and Klaudia can't be contacted. If you or another learner is being abused or at risk of abuse please, contact Jill or Klaudia or complete the online Safeguarding form below, which will be sent directly to them.
