Adult Community Learning Essex takes its responsibility seriously for creating an environment that promotes wellbeing and ensures personal safety, security and welfare. Safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone.

Safeguarding aims to prevent and reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to young people and adults with care and support needs. Abuse is when someone causes a person harm or distress. It can take many forms, ranging from disrespect to causing someone physical or mental pain. It can occur in someone’s home, a public place or online.

The person you need to go to with safeguarding concerns is the Senior Designated Officer - Emma Thomson.  Email: emma.thomson@essex.gov.uk  / 07827976273   Emma has responsibility within the service for Safeguarding and Child protection including Online Safety. Emma Crump: 07928667256 is the Safeguarding Officer. There are also two other trained Designated Officers: Su Codling: 07717867255 and Trevor Richards:07789 158122 who can help with concerns if Emma can't be contacted. If you or another learner is being abused or at risk of abuse please, contact Emma  or complete the online Safeguarding form below, which will be sent directly to them.
