Adult Community Learning Essex takes its responsibility seriously for creating an environment that promotes wellbeing and ensures personal safety, security and welfare. Safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone.

Safeguarding aims to prevent and reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to young people and adults with care and support needs. Abuse is when someone causes a person harm or distress. It can take many forms, ranging from disrespect to causing someone physical or mental pain. It can occur in someone’s home, a public place or online.

The safeguarding team have responsibility for Safeguarding and Child and Adult protection including Online Safety.   For contact details of the current team, please, refer to the posters in each of the classrooms.  The safeguarding ‘phone is monitored whilst the centres are open, outside of these hours if you have a concern where there may be an immediate risk of harm to yourself or another person,  please contact the police or other support service immediately.  Tel. 101/999
